THE 8 & 90 RULES OF ART

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

These rules were gleaned from the verses of Liber AL vel Legis. They are presented in a corresponding order with those verses as they appear in the Holy Book that they correspond with. It seems this is the only authority from which such 'rules' should be derived. Note also how they call one to action with proactive suggestions for conduct. In contrast, the 'Ten Commandments' of the old aeon are restrictive.

1.
Take your fill of love.
Love is the fulfillment of the extent of your nature.

2.
Know that the ecstasy of Nuit is within you.
This is Hadit.

3.
Know that the joy of Nuit is to see your Joy.

In this way, your divinity is activated.

4.
Let the Serpent burn upon your brow.
The Ajna Chakkra is the astral link to the lowest manifestation of Nuit. She bends down in ecstasy.

5.
Bind nothing.
A sympathetic magick to connect to Nuit.

6.
Let there be no difference made among you between any one thing and any other thing.
Another sympathetic magick to connect with the energy of Nuit.

7.
Seek out the ordeals of the knowledge of Nuit.
Lose oneself unto her by breaking down those psychic components which bind and differentiate.

8.
Seek Nuit only.
Seek Nuit as Hadit.

9.
Know that the joys of Nuit's love will redeem you from all pain.
She is the ecstasy of Hadit.

10.
Know that pure will, unassuaged of purpose, and delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect.
Spontaneous combustion with impeccable discretion is a way of describing the formula of 'Love under Will'.

11.
Know that the gross must pass through fire.
This is practical instruction for approaching a specific ordeal of Nuit.

12.
Let the fine be tried in intellect.
And this is another pragmatic approach to another ordeal.

Let the ritual be ever unto Nuit.
